Jeanne E. Hendrix, 92, of Temperance, MI, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Ebeid Hospice Residence. Born November 22, 1924, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Earl D. and Ruth M. (King) Wolfe. A 1943 graduate of the former Lambertville High, she married Harry W. Hendrix on November 18, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1988. Jeanne was employed by the Monroe County Library System, Bedford Branch for 15 years, retiring on December 31, 1984. She had worked for the former Willys Overland as (Jeep Corporation) during WWII as a “Rosie the Riveter”. Jeanne was a member of Crossroads Community Church (formerly Temperance Free Methodist Church), where she taught Sunday School and was church secretary. She was active with Cub/Boy/Girl Scouts, Leader for Monroe County 4-H, and helped start the 3-B Baseball Program. Jeanne loved gardening, sports, crocheting, knitting, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Harry (Connie) Hendrix, Bonnie (Robert) Fox, Thomas Hendrix, Donna (Brian) Dausman, Ruth Ann (Carlos) Blake, Richard (Adrienne) Hendrix and Mary (Dan) Wiley; Sister, Patricia Thompson; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert, Earl and Charles Wolfe; sister, Beatrice Perry and daughter-in-law, Sheila Hendrix. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 2, 2017. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
